AutoSonix, LLC (“AutoSonix,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides dealership-focused vehicle signal analysis services, including acoustic pattern modeling, OBD data processing, environmental normalization, and mechanical condition indexing tools such as PTX™ (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with our mobile applications, hardware devices, websites, dealership integrations, and related Services.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected:
- Through AutoSonix mobile applications
- Through connected AutoSonix acoustic capture hardware
- Through OBD interfaces
- Through dealership and auction platform integrations
- Through our website and related digital services
This Policy does not apply where AutoSonix processes information solely as a “Service Provider” on behalf of a dealership or auction client under a written agreement. In those cases, the dealership or auction platform is the “Business” under applicable law.
2. Categories of Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
A. Vehicle & Device Information
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- OBD diagnostic data (DTC codes, readiness monitors, sensor outputs)
- Mechanical acoustic signal data captured during engine operation
- Derived signal feature vectors
- Mechanical condition alignment metrics (e.g., PTX™ score)
- Device identifiers associated with AutoSonix hardware
- Mobile device identifiers used to operate the app
B. Commercial Information
- Service-lane scan timestamps
- Transactional records related to dealership or auction activity
- Integration metadata with dealership management systems
C. Internet / Electronic Activity Information
- Platform usage logs
- App interaction data
- IP address (for system integrity and security)
- Date, time, and access records
D. Geolocation & Environmental Information
- Precise geolocation coordinates captured at the time a scan event occurs
- Approximate dealership or auction facility location
- Environmental data associated with scan events (e.g., temperature, humidity, weather conditions)
- Timestamped metadata used to retrieve relevant environmental datasets
AutoSonix does not collect background or continuous location tracking outside active scan events.
E. Inferences
- Signal alignment scores
- Mechanical condition indices
- Statistical modeling outputs
- Pattern deviation indicators
- Aggregate trend analyses
3. Audio Capture Clarification
AutoSonix hardware is engineered to capture mechanical vibration and engine acoustic signatures only.
- The system is not designed for voice surveillance.
- Audio is processed to extract mechanical signal features.
- Raw acoustic recordings, if stored, are retained only as necessary for processing and validation.
- Feature vectors may be retained for model improvement and system refinement.
AutoSonix does not intentionally collect or analyze human conversations.
4. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Generate mechanical condition alignment scores
- Provide dealership intake and auction condition reporting
- Normalize readings based on environmental conditions
- Associate scan events with weather data for improved signal accuracy
- Validate scan integrity and prevent tampering
- Improve modeling algorithms and AI classification systems
- Train and refine AI-based signal classification systems
- Maintain system security
- Comply with legal obligations
- Enforce contractual usage restrictions
We do not use collected information to:
- Determine creditworthiness
- Make insurance decisions
- Make employment eligibility decisions
- Conduct behavioral advertising
- Track consumer movement patterns
PTX™ outputs are statistical models based on data available at capture time and are provided for informational purposes only.
5. Sources of Information
We collect information:
- Directly from dealership or auction clients
- From authorized dealership-operated mobile devices
- From AutoSonix hardware devices
- From third-party dealership management systems
- Automatically through app and platform logs
- From publicly available environmental datasets
6. Service Provider Role
In many cases, AutoSonix processes vehicle-related data solely on behalf of dealership or auction clients.
In those cases:
- The dealership or auction is the “Business” under CCPA/CPRA.
- AutoSonix acts as a “Service Provider.”
- We process information only for business purposes defined by contract.
- We do not sell or share personal information.
Consumers seeking to exercise privacy rights regarding dealership transactions should contact the dealership directly.
7. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
AutoSonix:
- Does not sell personal information.
- Does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Does not engage in targeted advertising using personal data.
We may disclose information to:
- Dealership or auction clients
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
- Analytics, security, and system integrity vendors
- Law enforcement or regulators if required by law
All service providers are contractually restricted from using data for unauthorized purposes.
8. Sensitive Personal Information (Precise Geolocation)
We may collect precise geolocation coordinates during active scan events.
This information is used solely to:
- Verify authorized scan locations
- Prevent misuse of Services
- Calibrate signal modeling
- Associate scan events with environmental datasets
We do not use geolocation to:
- Monitor employee movement
- Track consumers
- Conduct advertising
- Build location-based profiles
If required under applicable law, California residents may request to limit the use of sensitive personal information to purposes necessary to provide the Services.
9. Data Retention
We retain information:
- As long as necessary to provide Services
- To fulfill contractual obligations
- For audit, security, and compliance purposes
- For model improvement in de-identified or aggregated form
Raw acoustic recordings, if retained, are stored only for limited processing periods.
Geolocation and environmental metadata are retained only as necessary for validation and calibration.
10. De-Identification & Aggregation
We may de-identify or aggregate information so it cannot reasonably be linked to an individual.
We may use de-identified data for:
- Model training
- Statistical research
- Industry benchmarking
- System optimization
De-identified information is not considered personal information under CCPA/CPRA.
11. California Consumer Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:

- Request deletion of personal information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Limit use of sensitive personal information (if applicable)

- Limited access to raw acoustic data
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
13. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to individuals under 16 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.
14. Third-Party Links & Services
Our app or website may contain links to third-party services, including:
- Apple App Store Services
- Google Play Services
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party platforms.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
The updated version will include a revised “Effective Date.”
Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any updates.
